Winter Spotlight: Holiday Fun in the PNW

Thanksgiving is over and if you’re anything like us, you are humming a Christmas tune on your way into work and feeling the cheer that comes along with this season. Maybe you have a few precious PTO days left in 2019, or you want to create memories with your friends and family on the weekends leading up to the holidays.

Below, our Branches from Everett to Portland and the surrounding areas put together their favorite ways to experience the holidays this year. We hope you enjoy all the beauty this season has to offer!

(Beaverton, Clackamas, Vancouver & Portland Branches)

If you love holiday lights, you’ll want to pack your hat and mittens and head to the Grotto’s Festival of Lights in NE Portland where you can witness the largest Christmas choral festival in the world! There are over 160 indoor holiday concerts performed by choirs from around the region, and an amazing light display!

Or, perhaps you’d like to experience the Portland Zoo at Christmastime! Zoo Lights is an annual tradition that lights up the zoo with over 1.5 million lights! Grab a cup of hot cocoa and ride the train to see the animals’ homes dazzled in lights.

If you need to finish your holiday shopping, head over to the Portland Saturday Market to shop their Festival of the Last-Minute! Find special, one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list and get your shopping done in one stop!

And, if you’re in Vancouver, you won’t want to miss the Christmas Ships Parade. Maybe you’ll watch as you eat dinner at one of the restaurant on the waterfront, or walk along the river to see all of the ships float by!

If you are in the Everett/Seattle area, our Everett Branch has put together their favorite things to this month! First, they suggest heading to the Lights of Christmas in Warm Beach. You can stroll through a lite up Christmas Wonderland and experience live music and fun activities. And, if you want to enjoy the festivities even longer, you can stay in one of their uniquely decorated lodges.

Or perhaps you’ll tour the holiday lights of the Cedarcrest Golf Course. After you’ve viewed the lights to your hearts content, you can sit on the deck, roast a marshmallow and sip hot cocoa!

If you want a challenge, you can go through the Christmas maze at the T-Mobile Park in Downtown Seattle. It’s the world’s largest Christmas Light Maze- so pack a snack and get ready for a night of fun!

Just like Portland’s Zoo, Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo is decked out in WildLights– a light display that covers the whole zoo grounds. For the animal lovers, this is a beautiful way to celebrate the season.

And, if you’re on the East Side, Bellevue Botanical Gardens are celebrating 25 years of Garden d’Lights! With over half a million sparkling lights, you’re sure to be awed and amazed!

Regardless of how you enjoy this holiday season, we wish you a joy and cheer this month! And, if you are needing a break from finding coverage for those holiday vacations, don’t hesitate to contact us to see how we can help lighten your load so you can get back to enjoying the festivities of the season.
